Hi Guys Not sure which section to post this in, so feel free to point the finger and mock me, but....... How do I tell if I have a clone S107 or not? I've just received my latest (yellow) one from an eBay seller and I've noticed: + Box definitely marked Syma S107 Metal Series + R3 PCB + Blades have the warning in the expected place + Motors have retaining tags on BOTH sideplates (both my red ones have just one tag per motor on just one side plate + The bottom black plastic part of the chassis is a different casting to the red helis + The front led is red, green and blue (as opposed to just red and blue) and fades between the colours before cycling through them in a real funky rythm. + It turns about 3 times as fast as the red ones! Apart from the fact that the tail boom retaining screw was missing ( d'oh), everything else is identical. Any thoughts, and does it matter so long as it flies well and all my spares fit?

Sounds good. Take good care of that R3 heli.. They are a rare to find these days. Where did you buy the S107?

What seller did you buy from? Demonerr is selling yellow r3's that they openly admit is a copy (it's in their faq).
Personally I'm kinda ready to give up pronouncing what is/isn't a clone. There's just too many variations on the market for anyone to be sure about who made what. I don't think it's a big deal if a heli is a clone or not, they all seem to work about the same...
*Edit Just read your second post, you did buy from demonerr, so it is a clone.

Ahh, just reread his (demonerrr) eBay page - at least he's honest about it. Like you say, it works every bit as well as my two, as I assume genuine, Syma helis. Different flight characteristics, a bit more snappy on the turns for example, but just as good.
As a matter of interest, I want to go up a level, to a radio control 4ch co-ax. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which is the best next step? I'll want to fly it outdoors, so it'll have to be able to cope with light breezes and it'll have to be a decent size - at least twice the size of an S107 (damn my old eyes!). Available spares is a definite requirement, Oh, and I don't want to have to pay more than, say £50 (about 80 US dollars).
