I have to say I love the photography in these pictures, the lighting provided by the helicopters is really cool, and the background is awesome futuristic junkyard patrolled by evil remote control helicopters-esque.

thanks! This was a fun photo session to set up. The "fencing" in the background is actually plastic gutter screen for keeping leaves away!

I was wondering what it was, I think this one is my favorite pic: The "fencing" seems to match really well with the look of the carbon-copter, and to me it just looks really cool. Out of curiosity, have you considered trying to use real carbon fiber to make a canopy? I know for structural integrity you'd need a vacuum system and an autoclave, but from my understanding to just get the look it can be laid in a single sheet directly over fiberglass in the exact same way fiberglass mats are done for auto-repairs etc. If you're experienced with fiberglass you might be able to make some potential weight loss with this (I'd think you'd need to vacuum it to avoid any excess resin weight), but really I think it would just look really cool to have the actual carbon fiber weave on the body. Although really you achieved a remarkably good effect on that one, and if I remember from your website correctly it was done with spray-paint and cheesecloth or something? If I had the money for spare copters I would love to start trying to make custom canopies and such.

That would be super-trick, and I do believe there's a "Market Gap" in that a CF S107 canopy isn't already offered!
Doing a one-off, hand lay-up is very difficult to do, and making one lightweight even more so. Paint does the trick well enough, I think. There are parts of dishwashers, motorcycles, telephones, video cards, rotary switches, fiber optics components, bicycle parts, waveguides, sleeve nuts, and other assorted "junk" in the pile in these shots, a 30-year accumulation of "don't throw THAT away's" I've kept around. Yes, I hoard copters, but my real sickness is hoarding hardware...
Not having ANOTHER 1/2' long #6 screw on a mountainside in Washington state scarred me for life, long ago.

Be patient, there are 353 photos on this page, 45.5Mb.Note: I wanted to be sure I got ALL of my copter pics back up on the forum, so the easiest way was to just list them all, and see what doesn't pop up. These are in order, roughly by date. If you have a question about a pic, reference the file name, so I know which of these you're inquiring about. My FIRST helicopter pic!
