So, you tore the little tab off that cell, and you've found as many have, that solder, does not stick to it. At all. I'm going to show you how I fix these. I start with some flattened brass tubing. To get a new contact with the cell, carefully remove a small square of the liner where it's sealed over the lead. Take care not to cut into the actual cell area. See the tiny clip I've made? This can be smashed over the end of the pack, over the previously bared lead stub. Like this. The way I've flattened and cut the tubing, the tab is held in a nice smooth area, without sharp edges that can cut the pack again. I used my arbor press, utilizing a bit of tape to keep things pre-aligned. Now a new wire can be soldered on, the cell saved.
